Define the required protection
Describe the food, intended storage conditions and the performance you need. Leak resistance, oxygen barrier and water-vapor barrier answer different questions and should be specified separately.
Application guide
Review heat sealing, MAP and barrier requirements as a complete food, tray, film and equipment project.

Review the flange design, film structure, sealing window and equipment together. Trials should cover seal integrity, opening behavior and food contamination at the flange.
MAP changes the atmosphere in a sealed pack; VSP uses a film that conforms closely to the food. Neither term confirms tray compatibility or shelf life. Review feasibility with the food producer and equipment partners.
